100 years of punk

Punk turns 100 today. Reason enough, me thinks, to flout convention and follow your muse.

For me, that means, oh I don’t know, typing the remainder of this article with my fingers placed one key to the right of where ‘The Man’ says they should be.

OK, I can see a downside to that approach. Just as Good Charlotte revealed the downside of punk. Continue reading

The Poffertjes file

Hey folks:

It’s been rather quiet here at The Wig recently. Even Snorri has been otherwise occupied.

I’m not sure what his excuse is, but mine is a rather busy schedule that involves working 15-hour days, seven days a week for the Canadian Tulip Festival. And… uh, why yes, the Tulip Festival still exists. And no, I can’t tell you much about tulips; ask the NCC. My favourite stock observation from a hockey commentator is definitely the enthusiastic reference to “end-to-end action.” ‘Cause let’s face it, few fans prefer side-to-side action. Continue reading

Likers gonna like

I like Frisby Tire. I really do. Just check out the profile on my Facebook page for proof.

Now, I’ve never purchased tires from Frisby. I do not, in fact, recall ever setting foot in one of their locations… assuming they have more than one location. Though, I have long admired their jingle — one of the most boss jingles in jingledom. Continue reading
